I’d like to tell each of you the AgSouth Story. Because the AgSouth vision and its people give me much more inspiration and purpose than just writing loans.
AgSouth Farm Credit was created when President Woodrow Wilson recognized that farmers needed access to financing with repayment terms to coincide with the planting and harvesting of crops. Congress established the Farm Credit System as a government sponsored enterprise when it enacted the Federal Farm Loan Act of 1916. The Mission is to provide a permanent, reliable source of credit to American farmers, ranchers, producers or harvesters of aquatic products, their cooperatives, and farm-related businesses. It does so by making appropriately structured loans to qualified individuals and businesses at competitive rates and providing financial services and advice to those persons and businesses. To be consistent with serving rural America, it makes loans for the purchase of rural homes, to finance rural communication, energy and water infrastructures, to support agricultural exports, and to finance other eligible entities. My job and my niche at AgSouth is to finance homes in rural America; many with excess acreage of 10-100+ acres. But I also have good rates and programs for people that live in the city including FHA, VA, Conventional and USDA Financing.
Thank You for Listening, Matt
